Listed below are the committees for which volunteers are needed. Underneath each committee name, please indicate whether you wish to be either a chairperson, or volunteer for that committee.   Volunteer lists will be compiled by the PTO board and forwarded to the Committee Chairperson. Volunteers will be contacted by the Committee Chairperson.

​Please consider volunteering to chair at least one committee. We would like two committee co-chairs for each committee this year as a way to spread out the workload. We appreciate your help!

    ​Volunteers are needed to assist the art teachers with putting up and taking down the children’s artwork at different times of the year. 
    We have so many beautiful birds around the school! Cardinals, gold finches, robins, blue birds, sparrows and woodpeckers.. to name a few. About 10 bird feeders are peppered around the internal courtyard and periphery of the school building. The students and teachers love to see the birds every year. A volunteer is needed to chair the committee + 2-3 committee members. General tasks include: cleaning/maintaining the feeders in the fall/spring, buying seed and refilling them about 5 times throughout the school year. New ideas to enhance this program are welcome! ​
    ​Volunteers are needed to attend district Board of Education meetings and sub committee meetings. Ideally reporting back to the PTO Board for information sharing at quarterly Ironia PTO meetings. 
    ​Held in the Ironia School library, volunteers are needed to set up book displays and to assist students with book choices.
    Volunteers needed to help any need in our community.  Outreach events may include:
    • Blood Drives
    • Hope House Food Drive - Volunteers are needed to help collect, sort and transport food to Hope House. Volunteers may also help sort and bag food for Hope House families. The food drive is a wonderful service program that takes place in November.
    • Clothing Drive - Volunteers are needed to sort and package clothing for pick-up. Help is needed to load the truck on the final day of the clothing drive. The program runs for one week in the fall and spring.
    Volunteers are needed to help select and coordinate cultural arts assemblies and author visits throughout the year. You'll be planning our wonderful International Night and additional events that share the diverse richness of our Ironia community!
    Want your creative ideas to shine in our front lobby? ​Volunteers are needed to assist in the setting up and taking down of the front hall display case. The case is changed approximately once a month depending on themes. 
    ​Volunteers are needed to help organize and run Earth Day events in April. Past programs include the “Litterless Lunch” and the Ironia Bike/Walk to School event. Volunteers will help Ironia to Go Green!
    ​Volunteers are needed to help edit, organize, proofread, and produce the PTO Membership directory. 
    ​Volunteers are needed to plan family fun activities for students & families and to assist at the event (Bingo Night, Ice Cream Social, Painting Night, etc.)
    Join the fundraising committee to help run fundraisers to benefit out PTO.
    One of the PTO's no cost fundraisers where families can submit General Mills product box tops online.  ​Volunteers are needed to promote the program, and tally information.
    Volunteers are needed to help coordinate the Ironia School Halloween parade. (ex. decorations, etc.)
    ​Volunteers are required to assist students with their holiday gift selections, handle sales, stock inventory and other tasks as needed at the Shop
    Volunteers are needed to organize and/or bake goods for PTO sponsored events including the staff back-to-school luncheon, back-to-school night, and PTO meetings.​
    ​Volunteers are needed to maintain the planters located at the entrance of the school with seasonal plants and/or decorations.
    ​General Commitments:
    • 3 Garden Prep Days (2-3 hours of physical labor usually on the weekend)​
    ​(1) Fall clean up day 
    (1) Winterizing the garden 
    (1) Spring clean up day 
    • Class Guidance - As classes sign up for sessions during the fall and spring months, committee members are invited to sign up (via a private Facebook Group page) to guide and assist a class for a 45 min sessions during the school day. A garden committee chair is there with you when needed! 
    • General Garden Upkeep - All volunteers, once they get the general lay of the garden, are encouraged and VERY welcome to help with on-going upkeep at their leisure - ESPECIALLY weeding and watering.
    Volunteers are needed to evaluate grant applications, attend meetings, and assist in the determination of grant awards to Ironia teachers/staff
    ​Volunteers are needed to help plan and execute VIP Weekend which includes the VIP Dance and VIP Sports Night Out.
    ​Volunteers are needed in the spring during the 1-day orientation program while parents attend an introductory program detailing Ironia’s Kindergarten program. Volunteers will assist new students in the kindergarten classrooms and on a bus ride.
    ​Volunteers are needed to assist in the library with restocking books and organizing shelves. This will take place during designated librarian prep hours, as needed.
    ​Volunteers are needed to sort unclaimed items in the lost and found bins prior to school vacations and bring to an appropriate facility
    ​Science programs are held in the spring with a pre-determined theme for each grade level. Volunteers are needed to help the day of the event by working with a small group of students and facilitating the activities. Minimal training is needed.
    ​Volunteers are needed to order, organize, sort, and distribute orders for Ironia Panthers clothing
    ​During “thank you to the staff week” held each year in May, volunteers are needed to pick a theme, assist in the selection and distribution of gifts, and provide various food items during the week.
    Join this sweet committee and create book reading through the garden! This team will coordinate book themes that match the school's learning and create a beautiful display along the garden fence for all the children to enjoy.
    ​Volunteer needed to assist in website content and data input. Make suggestions about new technology and research new opportunities.
    ​Volunteers are needed to plan and implement the Welcome Night in August/September for all kindergarteners and new students entering Ironia School. Helpers are needed to supervise various stations in the school during the event.
    ​The Whole School Community Picnic is held in June each year. Volunteers are needed to assist the room parents in the game portion of the day. There will be volunteer training in the spring.
    ​Winterfest is an annual family fun day and our PTO’s largest fundraiser. The event includes a basket raffle, 50/ 50 raffle, carnival games, entertainment, crafts, bake sale, face painting, and refreshments. Winterfest is successful due to the help of many volunteers. It is an enjoyable way to meet and build friendships with other Ironia parents and Ironia’s amazing staff!
    ​Join this creative team in forming the wonderful memento of your child's year at Ironia! Volunteers are needed to assist with layout, photography, and yearbook sales.
